Default Update on PELA extractor and oil change

I'm doing another oil change before the bad weather gets here and I'm using my PELA for the first time. Man, does this discussion platform give good advise. It was a snap to drain the oil. I used the VW tool I have to pull the oil filter housing and I spent less than 10 minutes on the entire job. Thanks again for the great suggestions.

For those interested in how I did it, I did use ramps since I was not certain I could pull the filter just lying in front of the car. Next time, I'm skipping the ramps. I do have the two VW tools, the drain fitment and the socket. There is plenty of access to the filter without getting the car up in the air.

Again, thanks for the great advise. No need to go anywhere near JiffyCludge.

Yep, I've used a Pela for about a year now in our 1.8T, the Sienna van, and the JD tractor. Oil changes are a snap! Just about ready to toss my, ramps, vinyl gloves and greasy monkey suit!!!!

Well, I just changed the oil for the new season, the car basically sits in a heated barn all winter.

Cost = $42.00 for 7 quarts of oil and $10.00 for one VW oil filter. Satisfaction that it was done right = Priceless.

This car is so easy to change oil on, I have no idea why anyone would pay someone to do the work.
