Son and I drove down to Eau Claire, wisconsin today, for CCVC's 21st annual vw show. My bug placed 1st, on top of a bunch of GTIs and other water cooled 2010 and newer vehicles. Pretty proud.
  3. It's been a while

    2.0T Turbo
Haven't been driving my bug much. (riding the bike to/fro work, for the last month). In either case, I just took her out for a beat this morning, and voila'. THE speed (or A speed sensor), light comes on, and is beeping, at 20 mph. I've searched the various VW forums, and youtube. All...

  5. How do I remove factory rear spoiler? (I broke mine)

    Paint and Body
If it's the same as my 2013, then it's fairly easy/kinda. LOL. I replaced my OEM one with an aftermarket Dune style spoiler. I first removed the inner trunk panel to see if there were any bolts holding it down. Yes. there are. 4. Forget what size. Probably 10mm. Either way, I figured THAT...
  6. Steering wheel vw emblem

    New Beetle Convertible
If you go on ebay, you can find a plethora of aftermarket, (and some OEM), type decals/coverups/emblems for them. For something even more different, try KLII Motorwerks. They make decals for that spot that look terrific!!!
  7. Clutch Issue

    2.0T Turbo
If you're going to replace the clutch, (for whatever reason), it's the BEST time to upgrade. Get an aftermarket HD clutch. Especially if you're planning on doing any kind of modding/rodding with it. In my 64+ years of car owning/modding/racing, I can't EVER remember replacing an OEM...

  14. Anyone running amsoil?

    2.0T Turbo
Well, being an old 'retired technician', I ALWAYS over preventative maintenence my vehicles. Especially all the years I've been drag racing in the past. I'd rather spend a little more on early oil /fluid changes, and also get to inspect the possible upcoming of carnage, then just go by...

  19. Need help removing rear seat from 2014 R-Line Beetle

Questions, Issues or Problems with the New Beetle
You basically need to tear the entire trim out from behind the pillar behind front seat, to back of car out. You are correct. There are 2 bolts on each outer side, PLUS 3 or 4 more in the center section, underneath 2 plastic shields between the 2 sides of seat backs. Trust me, it's a PITA...
