Maybe someone on here knows what the heck is going on with my '99 2.0 AEG VW New Beetle. My car keeps going into some sort of limp mode with a throttle surge at low RPMs after driving for a while. My european import auto shop is out of ideas since it's so inconsistent.
The first time this...
I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I'm new to this forum, VW Beetles, and turbo cars for that matter.
ok. Bear with me here...
I replaced the broken stock air-box on my 2001 1.8t beetle. I bought it with a broken air-box and decided to save up and buy a cone filter to...
I'm still very new to many car issues.
I have a '02 1.8T. I took her to get an oil change and tires rotated and when I got her back it takes about 5000 RPM to engage into the next gear or to even accelerate in the current gear-- RPMs jump rapidly with slight push on the gas.
I've had her...
I am completely stumped on this one. My son has a 2001 Beetle with 2.0L Automatic. He was driving the other day and the acceleration just dies when you try and give it too much gas. it will SLOWLY accelerate if you barely push on the pedal but if you try and give it any gas it bogs down and...
Long time listener, first time complainer, here. My fiancee and I bought a 98 NB 2.0 about six months ago, and this started happening around Xmas. I'm not new to vw's (mk2 and 3 GTI) but this is a problem I've never encountered. Any pointers will obviously be appreciated.
I've just recently had a 2nd hand 04 beetle (Pink :> hence the name!) everything was fine until I started going on the national speed limit roads. As I'd hit about 65, the check engine light would come on and it would break for a split second then drive as normal, however after that the...
I have been recently experiencing noise under my hood when accelerating. When pressing down on the gas, the RPM goes up to about 4000-5000 and makes a very loud noise until it reaches the speed. It does not make the noise if I stay at the same speed.. only when I speed up.
This is my wife's main car, so I do not drive it often. But, since last Summer the car has seemed to have lost it's "get up and go." Pedal to the metal, the car lags the ability to get up to highway speeds like it once used to quite noticeably.
Is it possible the turbo needs...
