HI I have a 01 2.0 beetle, one day while driving home the thing stalled out and it smelled like fireworks, so I pulled over shut it off for a bit, started up and drove fine. I figured maybe the fuel injectors needed cleaned so the next morning I got some cleaning sloution and filled up the tank. ran decent for about a week then started to stall and wouldn't start. I got it home and had some one run a test on it and these are the codes it gave me.
16684 p0300 random missfire

I just wanted to know if anyone has had the same issues or any ideas of what it could be.
NOTE: I have changed the plug wires, and fuel filter.
