Sick of your PLASTIC thermostat housing cracking and leaking all the time; on your 1.8T? 034 Motorsports has come out with a upgraded METAL one! NEXT; we need a replacement METAL coolant flange to finally deal with the leaking flanges for GOOD! With the cost and downtime of replacing the flanges all the time; this would seem to actually SAVE money by not having to replace these sucky plastic parts so often! :)

metal flange

IMO seems like the coolant at the flange is always way more hotter than the thermostat side cause the thermostat side is coolant coming back from the radiator. So I believe a metal coolant flange would benefit the new beetle but the metal thermostat would not be necessary IMO.
I live in the desert of New Mexico; the temps get very high here... the plastic just deteriorates, cracks and starts leaking. Plastic is just not a very durable material for a hot engine compartment and a turbo charged engine. I have lost count of how many times; I have had to replace mine! Metal has to be better; it has to be an improvement! I personally; am SICK of having to replace these plastic parts over and over again! I welcome any and all products, that improve the reliability and reduce maintenance on our cars, especially VWs which are a constant battle to keep on the road!
Hummm, putting this on the wish list ;)
