Was talking with some friends about the beetle and 12+ and it hit me. They nailed the shape IMO for the 12+, but kinda failed in the taillight area. Has anyone thought about modifying a new rear fender and putting a older style light in to give it the round lights? May be some work but it would be different and possibly look cool.

I thought the same thing about the tail lights. That is until I heard the designer talking about them. They are the late 60s style lights turned 90 degrees. I like them much better after that obvious insight.

I heard that aswell. I don't see it. I don't really care for the New tails.

I do, however, really like the head lights. If only there was a nice and easy way to swap.

I suppose I can see the 90 degree turn, but the shape is still wrong. Late 60 tails were oval and much smaller with no flat edges to them.

Was doing some looking and it would take some work too as the tails meet the rear hatch area.
