Moved to Questions, Issues, Concerns, or Problems with the New Beetle.

Does the clock work as well or no? The sensor is located in the grille next to the drivers side fog light. It may have come disconnected or may need replaced.

Where has the wiring harness been cut; if you can take a photo, please post it up. As with most wiring; you could reconnect the break with solderless butt connectors. If you need to replace the connectors, plug to the sensor, the sensor itself or part of wiring; your VW dealer, sells the needed replacement parts you need. Please, post a photo of the damage and tell us more, about the nature of the needed wiring harness repair. Thanks.

can not get a pic but the plug is brown with clips on side with little wire on ends. where do these 2 wires go up in the engine. Could the whole thing be replaced. I have no clue how to splice wires... maybe this pic will work

I'm with Billy, if the wire is cut near the sensor then you should be able to splice it back together.
