Hi all.
Im going to be replacing the timing belt, and associated parts, on my new to me 2000 Beetle 2.0.
I can find kits galore, but can not seem to figure out what specialty tools I might need.
I did a search here, but only found links about the timing belt replacement itself, not much at all about the tools needed.
When I did the one on the TDI several years ago, I bought a set from Metalnerd that had everything I needed. Is there such a thing for the 2.0 gas? I didnt see in on Metalnerds site, but those are mostly diesel tools, so I figured there might be somewhere else to look.
While Im at it I guess I should ask if there is a preferred kit over another?
I know I want the belt, tensioner, water pump, accessory drive belt, and related bolts, and will likely also replace the thermostat and housing, along with the cam and crank seals, just because. I suppose I could wait on the seals, but they are cheap.
Any help appreciated!
