Hi, I'm new to the forum. I purchased a 2002 Turbo for my granddaughter. We have been cleaning and checking it over. Unit has 111K miles and supposedly had the waterpump and Belt changed recently. Was running well then after sitting for a week I get a red flashing overheat dash light. It started flashing before engine was warm. I downloaded these codes from the ECM. 16716, 16684, 16686, 16688 and 16795.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Welcome to the great and wonderful ORG! Many fantastic cars, people and answers lurk in this great land. If you haven't done so already, take time to fill in your profile and post a few photos so we can ORGle them!!

There are a good number of posts here that reference the issues you are asking about. I would suggest a quick post in the 1.8T area asking your question as many of the techie owners often don't watch the NMF area.

Have you looked at the anti-freeze levels in the overflow tank? Good luck and again Welcome!!!
