Hi all,

First post here. I just bought a 2003 GLX Convertible with the 1.8Turbo engine. $165K miles and it runs great. Paid $3,500 for it. It's a fairly clean car all around, but it is missing the rear trunk emblem. I've looked at a lot of them on the internet, and I cannot find one that has the opening at the bottom for the key to fit into. I have a trunk latch that can be opened with the key - or locked with the key. Anyway, I need to have an emblem that has a hole or a sliding piece so I can access the key lock.

Can you suggest a good source for this part?

Thank you for your help in advance.

I've added a few pictures here to make the thread a little more interesting.

Greg

Convertibles seem to be your thing. That a nice stable of them.

Try the junkyard.
Thanks, I'll check out the one's in my area. I can look for cars on FB that are being parted out as well. But it does surprise me that I'm finding it so difficult to find this part online. I must be looking in the wrong places.

Yeah, at the age of 60, I've discovered the joy of top-down driving at reasonable speeds (low stress) on the wonderful backroads where I live and I'm going a little roadster crazy right now. The Z3 is gone. I had that for a few months and really enjoyed it. Just a little 'old' feeling to me, with lots of miles. The 2.8 inline six was wonderful. Nice car, but I wasn't going to drive it much given the others in the stable.

I'll be selling the 06 Miata next. I've had that for six months. With only 17K miles, it's about as nice a Miata of that era as one could find. Beautiful leather seats, color combo, mirror-shiny black paint, tan top - oooh, I do love it, but I don't love driving it. Too light, a bit too small, not substantial enough, doesn't set down on the road good. Even with a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Sports, it gets blown around on non-windy days (just from the airstream passing over it at highway speeds), very noisy and unpleasant on highway trips. But as an object - it's build quality versus cost - as an exercise in lightweight sportiness and handling, yeah, it's a great car. I want to love it enough to keep it, and I've really tried, but it's not to be.

Having fun!

Greg
