Good morning!

I will be replacing the timing belt, water pump, t-stat on my wife's 2003 VW beetle AVH 2.0L. I haven't been able to locate a DIY article or thread specifically to the beetle- mostly just for Jetta's/Golfs. I have a Bentley manual for my '02 Jetta(Manual covers 99.5-05 jetta's/golfs) which I think should cover the engine related specifics- but not sure what's different specifically to the Beetle, if much, besides tighter engine bay? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Off the top of my head, the only differences that I can think of is the Tensioner and the Turbo Intake Manifold Tube.

timing belt 2.0

I am in the middle of a water pump/belt change this damp weekend in Memphis. There are two videos on u-tube that also are helpful. Finally, I have found the timing marks as shown in the 1.8 change out. Proceeding slowly and had some difficulty with getting the engine mount out. I had to jack the engine up and pull it forward to get removal room. Tomorrow should go smoother.
