Problem: Driver front window won't roll up.

Beginning State: The window is all the way down

Description of symptoms:
1. Only the driver front window is affected. All other windows roll up and down using their individual switch and the master.
2. When the driver switch is pushed down, a clicking noise can be heard (with the key switch in accessory position)
3. When the driver switch is pulled up, no clicking noise

Environmental Conditions: Outside temp is ~36 F

Trouble shooting attempted:

1. Opened the door and attempted to "wiggle" the wiring harness that goes to the door while pulling up on the switch(if a broken wire, as many have found to be the issue, this might allow the window to operate) Result: The issue remained unchanged.
2. Removed the inside door panel. Wiggled all connectors and tapped on the window motor. Result: The issue remained unchanged at first. After leaving and returning to the vehicle 30 minutes later, the window did roll up. However, the window motor logic was still not correct. Upon opening the door, the window controller did lower the window correctly as it should for the convertible. Upon closing the door, the window controller did not roll up the window into the seal as it should. So ultimately the window is "cracked" about 1/2".

Ending State: Window is up except for the 1/2" crack

Possible Causes: Regulator, wiring harness

Door latch may be part or all of the problem??

I know some German cars will not allow the window to roll up with the door open or will not allow the auto up feature to function with the door open.

Test the theory on the passenger door, open the door and see if you can roll the window up and down with the door open.
