2010 Bettle with the 2.5 with possible transmission issues?
My daughter was driving down the road and her car just started revving. I assumed the transmission had gone out. We parked it in our garage and I started it the other day and now will go into reverse and drive. Just rolled it about 5 ft in both directions. So now I’m thinking could be something else besides the transmission. Was wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

No codes showing when it happened. I’ll have to look if some popped up.

Even if there isn't a CEL, there can still be codes. Often transmission issues won't throw a CEL.
