Hello! So I purchased a 2014 new beetle I had a 2007 prior. I turned
My car on today (it's hot in LA) and my coolant light came on with a temp that started at 140 and worked its way up to 190 before I turned it off. I didn't drive it as I was scared to. I purchased a extended full coverage warranty. Any idea on it?

What engine do you have? My 2013 2.0T had a leak of some sort but the dealer claimed there was no issue. I would take it into the dealer and let them handle it since it's still under warranty.

Let us know; what the problem, ends up being. We need as much info; on these newer Beetles, as problems are going to start showing up, as they age. You have a warranty; you might as well, have your local VW dealer handle it. Thanks. ;)

PS: if you need to top off your coolant tank; you can do 50/50 distilled water and VW spec G13 coolant, "PENTOFROST E", is available at most auto parts stores (e.g. Pep Boys, O'Reilly's, etc.) or get the genuine VW coolant at your local dealer.

PENTOFROST E

1.5 Liter part #: 8113106
