Here we go!

It's time to fire up the 2015 FL T.O.D. carabugavan

GREAT NEWS!!!
The FL carabugavan returns to it's original 2009 route, meeting up with the GA crew. Yes, the band is back together:banana:

At last year's carabugavan, construction was starting up on I-26 in S.Carolina. Plus I discovered a couple more construction zones on our way through the Carolinas. In hopes to keep things running smoothly and safely, We're reverting back to our original route. Mapping shows that it's only a whopping 12 minute difference, so no big time will be lost.

We will be leaving Jacksonville @ 5:00 a.m., from the Gate Station on San Jose Blvd., at the intersection of Sunbeam Rd., near Old St. Augustine Rd.

9540 San Jose Blvd,
Jacksonville, FL 32257

The FL leg of the bugavan will travel
Leaving the Gate station:
- South San Jose Blvd (SR13), staying in the far right lane. This will get us on the on-ramp to I-295 north
-W. on I-10, towards Lake City
-north on I-75,
-North on GA-365 N/US-23
where we will meet up with the GA bugavan in Atlanta, around 10:30. Michelle will ping pong between the FL/GA and GA/FL threads so both legs of the caravan will be in the know.

Party pooper here

As I will be entering the country on Wednesday I will plan my own (shopping) trip and will drive up from Helen, GA (1994 highschool German club fieldtrip memories) on Friday May 1st, passing Panther Creek Falls first before heading up to Bryson City.'
We'll meet there.

Yay! I'm so glad the band is back together!!! Makes me super happy! Now, has anyone heard of Genghis Grill??? That's right down the street from Chipotle... Just a thought..

No worries, Marcia. As long as you get there. Have you talked to anyone yet about a beetle rental? Anything we can do to help?

Haven't talked to anyone yet. Need to find out who is in charge of AVIS in Georgia, or the Atlanta Airport AVIS location. If I can send that person an e-mail. Explain the story (with links to the Org and FB) which shows I'm not delirious

Heck! I would even give them free advertisement or drive around with AVIS in big letters on the side, as long as the rental is a Beetle

That's a good idea kiddo. Send them anything you can, so the see the significance of your request.

Marcia, when I traveled for business, I would call into the reservation center and talk with one of the call team members directly. 9 out of 10 times, they would be able to have a Beetle available to that rental location when I arrived.

Also, if you call the location directly, and speak with the site manager, you might have more luck as well.

Hope it works out !!!

Yes, that's the plan, if we're going traditional 2009 style, then it's meeting up at Chipotle in Buford around noonish...unless FL crew needs it to be a little later or earlier.

Yes, the Chipotle in Buford works :bigthumb:
The usual time of noonish is better. Don't want to delay our departure. The quicker we get to Bryson City, the better
