Hi All,

My 2016 convertible top on my Denim Beetle has started playing up, when the top closes it would normally lock, and then close the windows, but it’s just started failing to lock.

Now, as the roof closes and you hear the locking mechanism turning, it then starts clicking loudly and an error message comes on the dash. At this point the top looks closed, but the roof open light is on, so if I drive it bleeps away, but if I close the windows and leave the car overnight, then in the morning it thinks the roof is closed and all is fine, until I open it again.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is this fixable by me, or is it a trip to the dealer?

for anyone who comes across the same problem, it turned out to be a break in the wiring harness, caused by the the harness moving when the roof went up and down.

Can you taken some photos of the damage and clarify, the location of the problem; so, the next person, can check for the same issue in the future? This will help the next person with the same issue, thanks!
