Our 2017 Beetle is not showing odometer/total miles. Tried all the suggested stuff: Cruise Control is disabled, not showing when engine is not started/door open, messed with Trip button.

Looking for suggestions or anyone who has experienced a solution for this.

Is the car out of warranty; drop off at the vw dealer for diagnostics, if it is?

Otherwise, i would start with a fresh auto scan; using a vw specific scan tool like vcds by ross tech. Keep an eye out, for any thrown codes; that could be related to the problem, speed sensors, speedo malfunction, etc.

Beyond the scan, you could look at live data and see, if the ecu shows a data stream for the odometer and related sensors.

A bad speedo cluster: could possibly be shipped out for repair; a new one, would probably require computer programming and transfer of odometer readings, key matching, etc.

If this is all beyond your capability; a vw specialist or vw dealer; could diagnose and fix it for you. Let us know, how you want to approach the repair and we can go from there. Thanks.

Mine has too but the cruise control still works on mine just no trip/odometer. We did take it to the dealer and they wanted to replace the cluster for like $$ so we weren't gonna do that, any updates on your beetle?

Any new info would help?
Thanks, Ryan

Because the car is still relatively new; you might contact VW Customer Care and see if they will help you with the repair cost or sometimes, they will cover partial or all costs, under a customer courtesy scenario.

If you do not get any help from VW of America, you could pull the speedo cluster and have it repaired by a speedo cluster repaIr specialist. This would be at a lower cost and no extra programming would be needed (plug/play: repair complete).
