After replacing the compressor, drier ans Xp valve I have an intermittent squealing/whistling noise coming from the blower area.
I replaced the blower but it was not the source of the noise.
The noise lasts only a few seconds and happens mostly on a change in engine rpm, like coasting to a stop light.

Well, a change in engine speed almost seems to point to something mechanical in the engine bay as the cause. You changed the expansion valve, is it possible that while doing so you knocked something lose? That valve was quite tricky to get at and work on with so many other components in the way.

Don't think so. A/C work was done in conjunction with a timing belt change.
The noise is also occasionally present after the car is shut off.
It lasts for nearly a minute, gradually fading away. I envision it happening while the system equalizes.

Oh, then that's just the expansion valve you're hearing. Not sure why it is loud enough to hear, but I don't think it's a problem.
