Just put in a new glovebox and took out the radio plastic surround for painting.

When I put it all back together, I have an airbag light on constantly.

Is there anything that I might have messed up or not pluggedup right while taking that center plastic piece out?

Thanks for any help.

Anything is possible; have you scanned the car for airbag trouble codes with a vw compatible scanner? Post any codes; that you are getting and we can go from there. Thanks.

PS: if you don't have a vw compatible scanner: check out the vag 401, foxwell nt500 on amazon or vcds by ross tech.

haven't scanned it yet. Will the free scans at the auto parts stores give me the info I need? Don't have a scanner of my own.

Also, the turn signals have stopped working. All this after I'd had the center dash apart. Just thinking that I might have messed up the hazard flasher and/or the airbag light electricals.

thanks

Thanks.
I'm hoping it's something simple -- the car is my daughter's and she's had it since new 142,000 miles now.

Vag 401, how to reset?

ok, bought the VAG 401 code tool.

Anyone know how to use it to Reset the Airbag warning light?

Sorry, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Thanks for any help.

I personally, have not used that particular scan tool but I believe it should be pretty easy to basics, like scanning and clearing codes.

Here is the user manual at the top link: (read pages 6-12; for step by step procedures and screenshots of the scan tool in use):

https://www.google.com/search?q=vag...69i57j69i64.3917j0j9&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Note: this is a Chinese based scan tool; so, expect the english manual to have typos, sometimes be confusing and take some time to figure things out. You may, need to take awhile to figure things out and familiarize yourself with how it works. Check out the threads on Audizine and TDIClub for more info and people discussing, how to do procedures, basic use, coding, output testing, and upgrading software, etc.

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...inexpensive-HANDHELD-VCDS-VAG-COM-replacement)

The basic steps in the manual; are as follows:

3.2 Read Fault Codes
Select [02-Fault Codes] and then press [Enter] key. The screen will show
the error code and you can press up or down key to check out each error
code as the following.

3.3 Erase fault codes
Select [05-Clear Codes] and then press [Enter] as the following.
You need to press [Enter] button for the second time to perform “code
erase”.

Here are some how to and review videos:
