Hi all. I have a 99 beetle that I took all the fenders off for paint on. There is some sort of airbox under the front left fender that is connected to nothing at all and I have no idea what it is or where it would connect. Any help in identifying it would be great! Thanks

Snow box. Connects to your stock air filter.

A lot of people disconnect them to get the 4 or so extra horsepower.

Looks exactly like that. Nothing running to it at all so that's probably what they did. Would it cause the engine to throw a code?
