Hi Guy's
2001 auto 2.0 petrol aqy engine with 170,000 miles wife got into the car tonight and it won't start,battery is good she switched the head lights(bright) on no problem but when she turns the key nothing Ignition lights come on but that's it has anyone had this problem thanks

Have you actually gotten the battery tested? I had a bad battery that wouldn't start the car, but it would still turn on lights, etc.

Battery is good,with a by pass wire the car starts up no problem,there must be a fault at the ignition back plate or starter relay

check the brake pedal switch, it might not be making good contact. I would put an ohm meter to it.

With an automatic this can be caused by a bad range switch. Try shifting to "neutral" instead of "park." (It still could be the range switch even if this doesn't work.)
