I just got the apr intake and going for tune at the end of the month. Want to go stage 2 tune after I get downpipe. But are there any 3" cat back kits for beetles that mate up with the apr downpipe? Or should I just wait and get the spm turbo back ?

Thanks

I wonder; if these guys, have made one that fits the Beetle or they could make one for you? Which engine do you have?

Exhaust Systems - Volkswagen - MK6 2010-2014 - Cat-Backs & Turbo-Backs - 42 Draft Designs

There are a number of companies; making exhausts for the 2.0T:

aFe 2012-2013 VW Beetle L4-2.0L (t) Performance Exhaust (49-36407): this one is 2.5"

2012-2015 VW Volkswagen Beetle Performance Exhaust System Kit Cat-Back 15061 Magnaflow Stainless: looks to be another 2.5"

"BULL X"; seems to make a 3" exhaust:

SuperSprint makes exhausts for the Beetle as well; not seeing the size of the pipe on their site however...

Borla, makes one but it is 2.5"...

Thanks billymade. I had seen the bull x but for the price I might as well just get the Steve petty turbo back. Which looks like what I'm going to go with. Just wanted to see if maybe there were any other options that I had not seen yet.

You might contact 42 Draft Designs; they make everything in house, on site and maybe they can custom configure a exhaust to your personal needs/specs. For example; on the Mark VI GTI exhaust system; they charge just $30 extra; to go from 2.5" to 3.0" exhaust piping.

The Steve Petty turbo back systems; seem very popular on VWVOTEX. They seemed to be one of the first companies; to come out with a system, when the "new" 2012+ Beetle came out but it also looks like a very nice, well made system. Are you wanting 3" vs 2.5"; for the sound or performance concerns, what kind of horsepower do you see your car going to?

Here is a cool video; a little section, you can hear the exhaust... sounds pretty good to me! Sounds quieter; than most out there.

I'm looking to go to a APR stage III GTX turbo kit in the end. After I go stage 2 tune I plan working towards that.

I've posted pics of GSR upgrades to Stage 2 pics here. Great power and torque, but probably will never see a Stage 3. I own 2012 Gen 1 and GSR Gen 3. Engines different, and a lot of things for 2012 but very few for 2014.

I have a gen 1 2012 beetle. APR makes a stage 3 and it just seems so much better than the k04 which is still good but I am just liking the their stage 3 kit better. That will probably be at least a year down the road still have other stuff to get. Ordering the exhaust on the 1st. Then stage 2 tune as soon as it arrives. Then work on mods like new intercooler and internals to support more power.
