Atomatic Transmission Will Not Shift out of 1st geer

I have receintly purched an 03 new Beetle, while driving it will not shift out of first geer. I also have a standard transmition that I have already found instructions for that one. Can anyone suggest where I might find something on this issue.

How is the gear selector working; will the gears change if you move the selector manually? Have you scanned for trouble codes? Reviewing live data, can help identify the problem; here is a video, showing vcds in use.
