I have a 1999 automatic 2.0 beetle that I have been working on ever since I got it last summer in my junior year. I have done some pretty tasteful modifications such as a new white reupholstered interior, factory chrome rims wraped in ultra low profile tires,a color matched center console, gauge cluster, RGB interior lights, and replaced added 2 additional low profile speakers into the rear deck of the car instead of massive subs.Just to keep the car elegant. I picked up the car with 158,000 miles and blinded by ambition to have my first car I jumped on it without paying attention to the condition of the vehicle. It now has 160,000 miles and is starting to prove that owning a Volkswagen is a tedious task not meant to be taken lightly; and consequently I have come to realize that I can not afford to own such a lovely car as a full time high school student. I kept up with maintenance, and even replaced all the belts and hoses myself but even that proved to be expensive. I now have concluded that I need to have a car that will last me through ought college; and given that the car is immaculately maintained, I can't bare to see my pride and joy be tarnished by the unruly cold weather of flagstaff. So with pain in my heart my baby "Diamond" has to go. But I want her to find a good home. I have turned down offers of twice the cars value, merely due to the fact that I want this car to have a good owner. Not somebody who is going to abuse her and let her decompose.

I have some photos of the car If any of you guys are interested in seeing her, and I will answer any questions that you guys have. But if any of you know where she can find a good home please let me know. I have a month before I have to put her up for sale locally to any wahoo. Moreover, let me know if there are any final things that I should to do her before I put her up for sale

call those people back, tell them you were having a lapse in your monetary thinking process, and you now would love to accept that offer of, "twice the cars value".

Agreed. Money talks, especially if you're ready to get another car. Sell Diamond & say thanks for the memories.
I was offered 8000 cash today with another lady offering 9, to come pick it up this weekend. Should I sell it or is it too much, I feel like im cheating her because she isnt quite sure of what shes getting into. She just thinks it looks lovely.

by the sound of your posts, you are getting a good return on investment. I'm surprised that they're not looking at the NADA or Kelley Blue Book, and using that as a negotiating point. maybe they did, and they are enamored with the work that you put into your beetle.if they're willing to pay that amount, more power to you.
I really still dont see how it is possible to get that kind of coin out of a 99. But sell that thing as quick as you can.
Heck I wish someone would offer me that for my car. It would be down the road. And I love my car.
