I got a bazooka tube sub-woofer that I want to put in my beetle. The problem is I don't think it's a bright idea if I connect the power from the 12v outlet in the trunk to the bazooka tube. Since the bazooka tube has 200watts... Unless someone has done this before and had no problems? But then again maybe wiring it from the battery is the best way to go.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to cleanly get the wire from the battery to the back of the beetle's trunk?

thanks

As a rule of thumb, you don't want to splice into an existing power line. You should run a new cable that is connected directly to your battery.

Pull up the plastic kick panel and door sil guards, pull up the carpet a little and fish the wire from front to back.
You will have to knife a hole in the wiring harness grommet unless you can find another place it will fit. Make sure it can't rub or vibrate a hole in the wire from the battery. The ground should be close as possible.
