Hi All,

I have an issue in my Volkswagen beetle 2.0 2011, 6 gear automatic transmission petrol model in India.

It runs fine for few km (20-30 km) but after that it shuts down and i have to wait for engine to cool down completely and only then it get started.
I got tested the radiators and fuse etc but all seems to be fine.
Mechanic said car has issue in valve body, we got it scan in Volkswagen workshop as well and they also said we need to replace the complete valve body for it.

Can you please suggest :
-if above analysis is fine and what I should do in this case
-Is there any way to fix it at cheaper cost
-should i replace valve body OR complete transmission unit (Second hand or new unit? 09G325039D) as per the analysis, any link for this second hand part

Are you having shifting issues with the transmission?

Depending on what codes are present I would lean more in the direction of a crankshaft sensor, if the car is just randomly shutting off.

Agreed. Sounds like a crankshaft sensor. The only thing else could be something with the fuel system.
