If you're looking for an amp+subs, it is possible to wire it to the stock head unit, but it's usually easier if you use an aftermarket one.

If you use an aftermarket head unit, they will usually have red/white RCA outputs that you use to connect to your amp. If you use the stock headunit, it doesn't have those in back, so you need to make your own. You can buy a converter pretty cheap off eBay. You splice two tiny wires into your rear left and right speaker wires, and then it outputs RCA so you can connect that to your amp.

Sorry if it sounds confusing ... it is! If you understand what I'm saying, go for it, if you don't, it would probably be best to have a friend with experience help you or just to have a qualified audio shop do it for you. Good luck!
