Boot badge

Anyone know if I can sensibly use a later 2002 on Beetle boot badge on my 2001 swivel badge version? Was hoping I could flick my logo bit off the badge and stick the other one on top. Anyone tried it? Are they similar size?

Swivel badges are no more, it seems. :-(

You can find them on ebay.
I got a brand new OEM European badge that swivels for about 75 bucks shipped. :)

But, the newer badges are just stick-on, and the 2001 is integrated. How would that work?
I haven't found any on ebay yet - I'm in the UK though. Maybe I'll search US suppliers, too, and see if they'll ship.

I was hoping that the badge part is stuck to the swivel bit and not just a solid piece of coloured casting, if that makes sense.
Yes, they are the same part. Here is the 2001 part:

VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE [BE] (EUROPE) 2001: BODY: 85300. INSCRIPTIONS/LETTERING; SILL TRIM STRIP; MOLDINGS - ROOF; ENTRY STRIP PROTECTIVE FOIL

and the 2005 (happened to choose that year to look at):

VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE [BE] (EUROPE) 2005: BODY: 85300. INSCRIPTIONS/LETTERING; SILL TRIM STRIP; MOLDINGS - ROOF; ENTRY STRIP PROTECTIVE FOIL

If you look at the rear lid parts lists, the only difference is that the lock cylinder parts are left out of the list after 2001. The drawings are actually the same but the parts lists are different. 2001:

VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE [BE] (EUROPE) 2001: BODY: 82720. REAR LID

2005:

VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE [BE] (EUROPE) 2005: BODY: 82730. REAR LID
