In a previous post about oil pressure i mentioned my stepson drove it anyway and the cam siezed up. Havent tore into yet but ive been searching for camshaft bearings and cannot find a listing anywhere. Are they calling them something different nowadays? 2002 2.0 avh beetle. Thanks

AFAIK: these heads do NOT have replaceable cam bearings.

Look at the shop manual pages and look at page #3:

IF the bearing caps/journals are scored; you probably would need a machine shop, to regrind/resize them and it wouldn't hurt to have the head checked out, magnafluxed (for cracks), make sure it isn't warped (possibly need resurfaced) and pressure tested to make sure it is all ok.

Yup! After getting into it this weekend, i found that out!
Thanks. Guess its off to the head shop to see what they can do.
