We have a 2006 New Beetle Convertible. When it is very cold and the car is idling to warm up, it will shut off after about 10 minutes. When this occurs, generally the heater, seat heaters and rear defroster are on. The car will then not start for about 10-15 minutes. A couple of times it has required a jump start. This occurred last winter and I put in a new battery.
Has anyone else had an issue like this or can offer any suggestions? This is my step daughters car and can be very frustrating. Had to jump start it his time and then drove it for a bit 15-20 minutes. Never shut off and then started right back up.

thanks

Is the check-engine light on? Take your car to auto store(AutoZone, Napa, etc) and have it scanned. I would check the battery and alternator as well.
Also letting the car idle takes longer for the car to get up to temperature, you should be ready to take off directly after starting.
