Anyone had this happen and continues to happen when you refix and then put the roof down again,

Its due to the original fit clips not being tight enough in the window groove. VW have a fix for this in way of upgraded clips,

These are very small and due to there size and the lack of space in the rear of the car, as they need to be put on while the roof is up are a pain but a worth while job.

You push ( very tight but they will go on ) over the plastic frame on the head liner,

Then refit the liner into the groove around the back window and its been good every since.

The clips are about 40p each and I used 16 for half of the window as this was the half that always came off and placed them at approx. 4 inch spaceing. Vw only sell in packs of 10 but spares are good.

The part number is below,

I hope this helps anyone with the same problem, not the easiest job in the world but not rocket science. any questions please message me.

There are 2 TPI (TSB) for the rear headliner. TPI 2010663 and TPI 2011016.

TPI 2010663 involves cutting out 4mm to 6mm of the plastic hoop frame at the bottom middle to make the hoop frame smaller to it would fit better. This was rare to do.

TPI 2011016 is putting the clips on the frame. What I found is that you really only need 6 clips along the bottom edge to fix it.

When doing the metal clip, as noted I put 6 of them along the bottom edge, starting with the top center of the plastic hoop, fit it to the metal track and work my way around and down. Use a pair of pliers to help squeeze the plastic hoop into the metal track:

Really only needed them for the bottom edge, working my way towards the center. Put some tape on the pliers to help keeps from causing damage.
