So I just got my car back from a mechanic, and the mechanism that lifts the roof on one side is torn off from it's place (see attached pic), with one of the bolt/nut ripped trough where it was screwed in the body of the car.
Could someone please tell me what in the world has the mechanic done to cause it to rip off so violently? (He has been touching the Body Control Module that needs replacing because the central locking isn't working either)
How do I make sure this doesn't happen again once the roof actuator/lifter (that has broken off) is screwed down again where it was?

I am only asking this as I have 2 options:
- explain to this idiot what he has done to break it
or
- fix it myself

Where I live, sadly there aren't any convertible specialists that can sort this out, and I also want this mechanic to fix what he has messed up if he can.

Mine did the same thing, ruined one of the hydraulic lines, having a tough time finding a used line. I got the cylinder bolted back down, but, now I begin the search for a new line. Dean
