Hello, I'm new to the forum , just bought my daughter a 2001 2.0 beetle and the cooling fans run all the time as long as the car is running. I have done a search and found one thread where the problem was fixed with a new thermal switch, but it was a 1.8 and the underhood picture and location of the switch did not match mine. Also the turn signals will blink only 2 or 3 times and shut off???? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

fans on all the time

I think your problem is the cts coolant temperature sensor by the coolant flange. The thermal switch is mounted lower left on the radiator itself.

Thanks for the reply, where is the coolant flange located, I did see a switch located on the drivers side about midway on the engine with 4 pins, is that it? Thanks

coolant flange

The orange circle #5 in this picture. Remove the air intake for easy access to the switch. I Barrowed this picture from our fellow d2beetle
