I have a 2006 Beetle vert. I had the front brake pads changed and right after that, I noticed a cricket like noise. As soon as I just tap the brake pedal, the noise stops. I had my mechanic (used same place 30 years and no complaints) drive the car and he heard it. They took off the tires and noticed a little rust spot on one of the rotors on a back tire so they ground that (did both rotors of course) but when I was driving home, heard the noise again. I brought the car back and they took off all the tires and tweaked a few things (no charge) and said I shouldn't hear the noise any more. I still do. The owner/head mechanic told me to bring back the car, he really wants to figure out what is making the noise and fix it, no charge. ANYONE here who had this same noise problem and what caused it and what was done to stop it? THANKS for any help, suggestions that I can pass on to my mechanic. They haven't had any previous customer with this same noise in their car...
