I recently purchased a 2003 VW Beetle, from a dealership (they claimed it had no issues) I have found multiple issues with the vehicle, most are easy to fix on my own with the help of my dad. However I recently noticed that when I use the cruise control it works fine although it feels a little jerky. Anyways if I use the right blinker while cruise control is engaged it shuts of cruise control, it only dose this with the right blinker, not the left. Anyone know why this may be happening?

When you move the turn signal lever one of the wires for one of the cruise control switches gets tugged and is probably shorting out against something. This does happen occasionally. The solution it to replace the turn signal lever which is fairly involved. The airbag and steering wheel have to come off. You may be able to fix it by just removing the top cover on the steering column and trying to relieve the tension on the wires coming out of the turn signal stalk so the shorting no longer happens.

The turn signal stalk seems like a good answer... if you have VCDS then you can view live data from the cruise control buttons while operating the turn signal stalk to see if red99's suggested is correct.

Something else that crossed my mind... could wrong bulbs be stuffed into the tail light sockets. I know wrong bulbs do cause odd issues, not sure if it would cause the type of issue you are having though... worth a look at the very least.

Mine does this too! but for the left side. Think I'm gonna check that out. I thought it was just a feature, because if u signal left chances are you are going to accelerate and then reset your cruise again, after passing, etc. Since it's not actually a feature I'm gonna look into mine! haha.
