Glad you made it over to this side. . I dunno on the paint price. It'll be first part of 2k6 before my girl gets her new facial, botox and stuff

By the way Justin, that pearl sounds like a good idea. I've never seen a black car with a pearl undercoat. Have you? Give me the scoop.

[The Cheat]

Al-the paint color you want is Black Magic Pearl. It's the black for the 20th anniversary GTI and the 04-05 Jetta GLI 1.8T. It's sharp. Very metallicy and very sweet at night.

Another pearl I like is Honda's Flamenco Black Pearl. It's got a red pearl in the basecoat, so it looks almost red at night. That paint code is NH-592P.

Nighthawk Black Pearl by Honda is sweet as well. It has a blue pearl in it, so it looks blue at night.

Just some ideas for you to consider. A good paintjob will probably be around $2000 if no bodywork needs to be done.

I'm not really a TDIrookie by any means now, so I figured it would be appropriate. 2k-2500 will get you a good paint job from a reputable place (no Maaco or Earl Schaab). I paid $2900 to get my ITR resprayed Mary Kay white (don't laugh, it had pink metal flakes in it), and it included the jambs. This, after Maaco messed up the first time, so there was some extra prep involved.

Ya know, that would be too cool. And yes, red would be the color. Buttercup worked out great for me. Buttercup is a flower after all. PPG buttercup looks better in the flower vase of a guy, that an actual flower. Not that theres nothing wrong with flowers. Ya know how us guys are

I don't know if I told ya. I gave 73Standard a MoJo JoJo for their green nb. Don't know if they're gonna name it that. He just wanted one for the bug. We'll see what becomes of it.

Hey by the way, are you ok from Rita passing through this past weekend?

man, rita who? in austin, we didn't get a drop of rain, not a speck! we got some nice gusty breezes on saturday, but if it wasnt for the news, we wouldn't have known anything was up. so, my friend's and i used the nice day to paint clean, polish and wax our cars. it was a LOT of work, but worth it. i even got a sunburn! and we were supposed to get a hurricane!

I was putting a pic of buttercup on my computer's screen saver, and after it sized it to the screen, it transformed the pic into a different, cool, sexy, pic. I like it alot. WaddaYa think?

Yeah, it's a schmoove pic mang! Almost calendar worthy IMHO. Notice the reflected building w/setting sun in the bumper. That turned out pretty cool too. Bugs just have all the right curves to do cool pics like that. Man its great to be a beetle owner!!

By the By, did you fair ok after Katrina? Wishing you well buddy.
