Good morning! I have a 2002 beetle and the whole left side, blinker, speakers, windows, everything will not work. Sometimes the right side speakers go in and out also. Any ideas where to begin? I’m looking for the least expensive route.(obviously) any input is appreciated thanks!

Well, one of the most common issues; related to electrical problems and lack of power, is the door harness. The harness, goes from the body to the door and is encased in a black, ribbed rubber sheath. The wires, flex, everytime, the door is opened and closed. Eventually, the wires break and the power to the door's electricals/accessories are killed. So, I would inspect the wires for breakage and you could also, do a continuity test with a multimeter, to find breaks, in the wiring.

Here is a great DIY, to disassemble the door and it shows, the wiring harness, how to get to it.

Here is a thread with some photos; showing, how you can push the rubber protective cover to the side and expose the wires, to inspect for damage.

As for speakers no working, we have seen; many, lose the "foam surround" rings, and this will cause them to stop working or become very quiet. These can be repaired with new foam edge/surround kits or just get new or used good ones.

Let us know, the results of your testing and inspection. Then, we can go from there! Thanks! :)
