I need to get a whole new engine for my 2000 NB 2.0 5 speed.
From what I gather there is options besides one from the exact same vehicle. What are my engine options for easy compatibility?? I have someone who has swapped engines from an '01 beetle before, but he wants me to keep it simple and I have to find the engine, he doesn't "have time for 1000 questions" about Compatibilty! Please help ASAP

Well, any VW with the same engine code 2.0 for sure. If you are swapping the whole thing, any other 2.0 from a mk4 should work as well. You might run into problems with the ECU though, but I'm not certain.
