Darn, I do have the code. I looked on epa.gov and the warranty on the catalytic converters are extended to 10 yrs/120000 miles on the 05 2.0L Beetles. I called the VW shop, since mine has 99000 miles and he said it hasn't been done, but it has fallen off because sometimes they just choose certain mfg dates to recall or something.

The website has this engine type: 5VWXV02.0223

I don't know if mine is that type or not.

It does have a rebuilt title, so could this be the reason the recalls were pulled? Does anyone know?

I plan on replacing the front O2 sensor first.

Do you have a link? I've not heard of the extension being on '05's. The only one I know of was on the AEG engines, '98-'01.

I must have found that on a direct google search because the 2010 recall list isn't listed on the EPA site. I'm looking all over to find it on their site. The latest one they have is 2009.
