Fuse 7 has started blowing in my car lately. If I replace it, it lasts a couple days of normal driving and then blows again at some point, but I haven't figured out when. I do know that it doesn't happen immediately when I put it in reverse.

I searched online and found this description of what is on fuse seven:

F4 - Back-Up Light Switch
G22 - Speedometer Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)
J226 - Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Relay, (T9/5)
K142 - Selector Lever Position P/N Indicator Lamp
M16 / M17 - Back-Up Lamps
T16 - 16-Pin Connector (OBD) , (T16/1)
Any ideas where to start looking? I recently moved to Mexico and still have trouble communicating with the mechanics here so I'd like to try to fix it myself if possible.

EDIT: 1999 Beetle 2.0 engine.

No NB Yellow Trifecta :(

If it were me, I would use the process of elimination ...

1) If your NB is a manual trans mission you can eliminate the auto-tran codes.

2) If you replace the back up lights and back up light switch and the fuse still blows, then you can eliminate two more codes.

3) Replace the Speed Sensor (aka RPM Sensor)

Not certain what to do about the OBD Port; if that is the problem.
