Thanks for the list! I had also forgoten Eric Johnson...and I added Neil Young.

Neil Young is the father of Grunge Guitar. IMHO.

But I have to say my tops...
Steve Howe, he's a REAL musician!
and even though some may fine him a bit soft, John Mayer is amazing on the 6 string!
and !!!!! I love David Gilmour...most unique.

don't like....the edge guy, he has but one lick and he's sticking with it. Too repeative.

it's the truth though. i can't help myself. i own a few Earl Scruggs albums. he's just *that* good of a banjo player.

I totally forgot, but Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac rocks my socks. Not so much for his playing, but for his passion...he's got a way of making you feel what he's feeling at that given moment. I get chills every time I listen to "Big Love" acoustically.

Shame on me for also forgetting Duane Allman. How could we all forget him?

Eric Clapton too...I'm all sorts of inspired now.
