Seems to me todays prices are as much or more than cost when new for all Beetle years, especially convertibles. Low mileage cars are especially egregious! Late model, low mileage, no damage, one/two owner converts are in the low $30's or more! And I thought used car prices are down from last year.....our little jewels have become real jewels!!

Yes! The local VW dealer has a 2017 convertible with 42,000 miles and they are asking the original new price for the car (actually maybe a bit more). I think it's because VW is basically an SUV manufacturer now. They do that because they have great markups on those vehicles and they are popular, but there are still people who want all the cars they used to make - regular Golfs, 2 door GTIs and Golf Rs, entry level Jettas, Passats, convertible Golfs or Beetles, Golf and Passat wagons. So when a nice older car comes along, there seem to be people who are willing to pay for it.
