My girlfriend purchased a 2009 VW Tiguan months after I purchased my 2003 GLX New Beetle. The other day we were driving her Tiguan, and smelled the seat burning/melting due to the heated seat. She actually burned her finger when she touched it. We are having it repaired after Thanksgiving. Has this ever been a problem in the New Beetle? I did some online research and it looks common in Jettas and Passats.

My seats work great and I love them, just wanna be on the safe side.

I always say that number 5 will keep pizza warm, but I never thought that it would burn a finger!

It doesn't sound right, and if I had that happen to me, I would not use my seat heater, until I had it figured out!

I don't think so, but if you have a large enough sample then any malfunction is possible I suppose.

And I do keep pizza warm on setting 5 on the long drives home.
