Found one of my heater hoses is leaking at the connector on the drivers side on the firewall. I'm assuming it's the o-ring. Before I go and break the connector, what is the correct process to disconnect these hoses?
There is a wire retainer clip that needs to be released first. The bent ends on the retainer need to be pushed downward until they seat in recesses in the plastic fitting. Then twist/pull on the connector to remove it.
Maybe the flat blade of a screwdriver. The wire piece is U-shaped so once it is moved down a little you may be able to get something between the U and the plastic housing to pry it downward. It should snap into the released position when you get it there.
