I have a 2002 beetle 1.8 turbo.
I was changing the sparkplugs when the threading broke off. I bought an screw extractor/ez off, and now that is stuck in there too.
how can i get them out without ruining everything.

So, what specifically broken-off and what happened to the easy out did you use? Do you have any photos of the remainder of the old broken spark plug and how did you attempt the remaining thread removal?

Maybe they mean they rounded off the hexagonal part where the tool sits on to fit or remove it?

The threading of the spark plug is stuck in the cylinder head (see photo).
I attempted to use a extractor bit, but now that has become stuck as well.

the second photo is of the extactor inside of the the cylinder head where it is currently stuck.

The ez out is NOT broke. It is still intact. It's just stuck
What type of ezout is it? Typically they have a square drive on one end; that is driven by a square drive socket, 8 or 12 point socket, tap wrench or adjustable wrench. Unfortunately, from the photo; it looks like there is very little to grab on to. Did you drop it in or hammer it down in?

Use the correct drive deep wall socket on EZ out with an extension on an impact driver set on reverse then apply downward pressure and bump the trigger on the impact driver intermittently until it comes out. Good luck.
The easyout should turn out with the tightening pressure and get tightened with the loosening turning it’s a reverse screw. I personally would load the threaded area with a liquid wrench, PB blaster, kroill or some sort of penetrant along with heat. Copious amounts of patience! If the threads broke off I would suspect it was put in cross threaded. Had a similar problem on a fuego many years ago. The threads may need a hellacoil. If that’s the case pull the head and have it done right. I tried it and the plug blew out and the cylinder ingested crap dung up the top of the piston so the machine guy said no problem I’ll heliarc the piston he did it changed the density of it and burned a hole through it in no time after reassembly, that was all from a yucked up thread. It’s all a learning curve. Best of luck!

Sorry i have been at work all week. I hammered it down.

what is the correct drive deep socket. This is a 3/8ths EZ out
Have you tried using a 12 point deep well socket?

From your picture it looks like you hammered it in to deep. Can you get on the ease out with a wrench or socket of any kind?

I am sorry, school and work have had me very busy.
I can reach the EZ with a wrench and/or socket. But it seems like it wants to strip, so i havent tried to hard. I am going to look at it again this week. and will update
