Help the noob out. New Beetle vs. New New Beetle

Ok, help the noob out. This may already been covered but I missed it. Or this could be a taboo topic but I'm new so I don't know any better. But I'm finding it extremely hard to find relevant information on a 2013 Beetle convertible.

Whether it's 2012+ Beetle, New New Beetle, just Beetle, 21st century Beetle, whatever, there's different names and finding stuff in either Google or even a parts website is next to impossible. And there's a lot of differences between the New Beetle and the Newer Beetle. Just Beetle lumps me with the old Beetle, or the classic Beetle in my searches.

So how do newer Beetle owners search for stuff relevant to their generation? Point me in the right direction, please. :)

The VWVORTEX Beetle forum; seems to have the most in depth info and actively posting members, I have seen anywhere. From what I can tell; the really involved 2012+ "Beetle" people, are on there, including those who are doing performance upgrades and such, if that is of any interest to you.

Also, what are you trying to find out? You might have people here who can give you the information you need.
Just little stuff. Like looking for accelerator/brake pedal covers/replacements, a new/different shift knob, little mods like that. Maybe some bolt ons like an intake or a catback. I'm looking at accessory sites and they're not clearly organized, and I don't want to assume an item for a 2009 will work on a 2013.
ECS Tuning is pretty good for aftermarket stuff.
Awesome. Thanks for the tip! I like the pedal replacements they have. I'm also going to look into adding fog lights.
True, VWVortex is a wealth of tech & info, BUT here on the org you'll find the friendliest & respectful beetle owners around.

In your quest for 12+Beetle upgrades, we hope you'll make this place your home. We are hungry for the emergence of the 12+ Beetle to reinvigorate/repopulate our forum, as well prolong it's longevity, furthering the lineage of the iconic beetle.

The 'Tex '12+ Beetle section is actually really good. Pretty active and lots of info on mods. Anytime I've lurked in there, everyone seems friendly. Its a good group.
Hang around, this is the place for H2O beets, no matter what year.

I know there are members modding out +12's. If their doing it, it's here.

Welcome to the Org.:)

That's good and all. Just promoting the forum dedicated to the new beetle and 2012+ next-gen beetle... newbeetle.org.

Not trying to turn people away from here by any means. But the 'Tex section has some good info for the newer cars that isn't as easily found here. Its a great secondary resource for sure.
Yeah, the Vortex is nice, but a heavy emphasis on turbo and high performance. So I'm lurking to see if I can learn.

I'm finding it a big difficult to find 2012+ info. I saw a similar issue in the Miata forums between the different generations. It would be great if I could tag posts to a particular Beetle generation.

I have found folks here very welcoming, and I'll be sure to share what I find to help fellow 2012+ Beetle owners. Thanks!

newbeetle.org is Great!

Haven't posted here a lot, but when I have, people have been very helpful!....

So, I keep coming back here....

Off-topic, but FWIW, my wife still has the '00 Millenium Bug GLS that we bought her new in December of '99....

Only has about 69K miles on it.....

Looks like new....

She says she has no plans to replace it....

So, should around here for some time to come....

Yes, very nice indeed. But for the 2012+ Beetle there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity. A lot of New Beetle posts (obviously) but I haven't found a really active spot for 2012+ Beetle owners. Very strange.
Hey I have also noticed this issue; I don't have one of the newer beetles but I have found the most active forum 2012+ models, to be on vwvortex:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/forumdisplay.php?5309-The-Beetle

As these later model Beetles age and when they go out of warranty; the owners will probably be more active working on their cars and asking questions. Until then people are probably going to be more dependent on their VW dealer to fix things and maintain their cars.

There also aren't that many 21st Century Beetles out there yet. Statistically, for every water-cooled Beetle you see out and about, 4 out of 5 are still NBs from 1998-2010.
