Well since the '98s do have the prop rod to keep the hood up, and it's on that side... I'd figure someone forgot to remove the rod at some point and tried to close the hood (therefore bending the hinge).

that sounds cheap to fix :D ill take the hinge off and stand on it :banana: thats how i fixed a similiar problem on a older mustang i had
