I know we have a few very connected VW people here, so I thought I'd ask...

Since the newest version of the New Beetle Convertible will not have the mighty 1.8t engine, I was wondering just how rare this engine is in verts. The older body style convertibles were only available in '03 and '04 - most of these were 2-slow engines.

Does anyone know how to find out EXACTLY how many 1.8t convertibles made it to the U.S.? 5-speed manual transmissions were even more rare!

Can someone find out:
a.) How many 1.8t verts in U.S. market?
b.) How many 1.8t 5-speed manual transmission verts in U.S. market?

LOL... I just realized the irony of my sig... :)

If you were hoping or wondering whether they would be a rare/collectors item... with the way these things depreciate when you drive them off the lot I don't think there's gonna be a market.
I'm not necessarily hoping anything... I'm just curious.

Does anyone have an answer or know where I can get an answer?

2005 1.8T 5-speed!
First and last year for Tornado Red (on NBC)
Last year for "old" body
No options (aside from 17" alloys and windblock)

I think most NBCs came in with most of the options, as well as Tiptronics...
