Anybody in the Chicago area who has the correct scanner to reset the basic settings in the throttle body on my 99 2.0 Will pay 50 bucks if done today. need to get to work by midnight. I am in River Forest. Left lights on and battery went dead and lost the basic settings in the throttle body.

I'm not sure if vagcom is needed.
I think you reconnect battery, turn the key to the "on" position WITHOUT starting it, listen for the throttle body to cycle through it's setting cycle(3-4 minutes), turn ignition off then hopefully start car normally.
