It pays to shop around............

My radio antenna, only 4 years old, rotted in half. Your guess is as good as mine as to why. Anyway, the VW dealership wants $47 for a new one. I just found a bunch on E Bay for about 8 bucks, and if I really want to splurge, I can get a billet one for $17.

I know dealerships mark things up to maximize profits, but that's one big markup!

I never go to the dealer for parts, unless its through my mechanic and there really is no other parts source (which is very, very rare). Lots of great online vendors who have great prices for OEM and aftermarket stuff. And my mechanic is a great parts resource as well.
I took mine off last summer, so I could put my friends new screen door on my roof rack. I tossed it in the car, and I have not seen it since...... I know it's in there somewhere! But, if I don't find it soon, I will need to start shopping.

I still get radio, but not as much as before. Tunnels, parking garage, gorge.
I bought one like this, cheap, and it made a world of difference as to how many stations my radio receives

Cheap, fast shipping, lots of choices. I bought from them for my Jetta:

Thanks for this info. I just bought an original OEM mast through Paypal. :D
I bought one for $6 including shipping on Ebay and it looks and works great, 16"long and the reception on my radio is really good. Go for it
